Head Of Aquatics
Key Responsibilities
This is a contract, full time seasonal position beginning May 1 and ending in October, the candidate must be available to work 20 hours p/w in September/ October and full time through the summer
- Broad knowledge and experience in pool chemistry, operation, and management.
- Monitors and coordinates pool safety programs and risk management.
- Employs only those methods and teaching techniques outlined and approved by the Lifesaving Society
- Thoroughly understands specific health and safety regulations and Club policies regarding pool safety and inspections.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform personal role in emergency situations.
- Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff.
- Provides necessary orientation and training for pool staff on Club policies and procedures
- Assist in opening and closing of the aquatic department and oversee the daily operations of the pools, delegating tasks to supervisors when necessary.
- Maintains mechanical equipment in coordination with the club’s maintenance department.
- Maintains correct payroll records and budget.
- Enforces club rules of safety and conduct.
- Confirms certifications & background checks and maintain accurate employee records.
- Arranges a program of and schedule for private and group swim.
- Registers members for lessons and provides evaluations and advice on placement.
- Coordinates and assigns private lessons as required.
- Develop staff scheduling and perform administrative duties as necessary. Adjust staff work schedules and assignment of extra tasks.
- Communicates effectively with the Program Manager and makes recommendations for improvements or changes.
- Makes day-to-day decisions regarding patron safety and ensure lifeguard to bather ratios are adequate; adjust schedule & rotations, accordingly, delegating tasks to supervisors when necessary.
- Assist with maintaining sufficient inventory of first aid supplies, uniforms, and swim lesson supplies.
- Compiles necessary facility statistics.
- Ensures compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
- Attends Weekly Health and Safety Meetings
- Act as a person in charge of emergency procedures and action plan for staff.
- Monitors activities of the swimming pools by providing the highest standard of lifeguarding with an emphasis on the prevention of accidents and injuries.
- Responsible for trouble shooting and handling customer concerns.
- Responsible for educating the public regarding the policies and procedures related to bather safety.
- Provides excellent customer service to all members.
- Assists with customer service, program registration and answering telephones and email.
- Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning pool attendance, pool chemicals, accident reports, problem-member reports, lifeguard, and instructor schedules, etc.
- Attends and participates in Aquatics Committee meetings.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Program Manager & CEO
Qualifications
Must have a Current NLS
Must have a Valid Swimming Instructor certificate
Must Have Standard First Aid, CPR C and AED

Senior Camp Counsellor
Start and End Date: June 16 – August 29
Salary Range: $17.50/hr (42 hours p/w)
Key Responsibilities
This is a Contract, full-time seasonal position beginning the end of June and ending in late August.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for a position on our summer camp team:
- 2-3 years' experience working with children in a camp setting
- 18 years of age by December 31st, 2025.
- CPR, First Aid, and other relevant certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Proven leadership in a camp or recreation environment
- High Five training considered an asset
Sailing Instructor
Start and End Date: June 16 – August 29
Salary Range: $17/hr (42 hours p/w)
Key Responsibilities
This is a Contract, full-time seasonal position beginning the end of June and ending in late August. The Club is looking for qualified sailing instructors that are interested in teaching all ages and skill levels.
- Evaluate CANSail levels 1-2 in a safe and fun environment
- Always ensure the safety of the sailors on and off the water
- Supports Head Instructor with equipment and boats repairs, site cleanliness and organization
- Reporting to the Head Sailing Instructor
Qualifications
- Current CANSail 1 & 2 and/or 3 & 4 Instructor
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification
- Pleasure Craft Operators Card
- National Lifeguard Certification preferred but not required
- CPR, First Aid, and other relevant certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Dining Room Server/Banquet Catering Server
- Previous comparable wait service experience preferred.
- Serve Right or other provincial equivalent preferred.
- Greets and acknowledges members and guests.
- Is knowledgeable about all club menus (Dining Room, Wine List, Cocktail List)
- Is competent in Bottled Wine service
- Learns members’ names and their special preferences.
- Available to work days, evenings and weekends, especially through club ‘high season’ June-Sept 30th
- Able to lift 40lbs/18kg.
- Must be 19 yrs of age (legal age for alcohol service)
- Reports directly to Food and Beverage Manager
Outlet/Canteen Attendant
- Some food preparation and/or food service experience preferred.
- Previous experience with Deep fryer operation preferred but will train.
- Must be available for day and/or early evening service May-September 15th.
- Organizes/Opens and Closes outlet.
- Provides informal and fast-food services.
- Maintain cleanliness, re-stocks supplies, notifies Chef when low and in need of ordering.
- Suggests menu additions based on member and guest requests.
- Able to process payments, and keep paperwork organized
- Able to lift 40lbs/18kg.
- Reports directly to Chef and Food and Beverage Manager
Tender Operator
- Responsible for tendering members to their boats in the mooring field
- Monitoring the boathouse; and,
- Setting members up with watercrafts being rented.
- Includes mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Landscaping
- Responsible for the maintenance of Club grounds.
- Typical duties include mowing, edging, seeding, trimming.
- Experience using a zero-turn lawn mower considered an asset.
Cleaning
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Clubhouse, Bloomingdale Annex, and all bathrooms, seating areas, and garbage’s on property.
- Experience driving or using a Club Car considered an asset.
- Includes mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
